Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on 10/10/2025

We at Richard J hunt - Artist are working to make our site richardjhunt.com accessible to people with disabilities.

How Accessible the Website Is

I aim to ensure the site is easy to navigate and use. The website includes:

  • Clear text with sufficient contrast

  • Responsive design for use on mobile, tablet, and desktop

  • Alt text for meaningful images

  • Keyboard navigable menus

  • Descriptive link text

  • Simple and consistent layout

However, I know that some parts of the website may not be fully accessible:

  • Some older images or artwork previews may not have full alternative text descriptions

  • Some third-party embedded content may not meet accessibility standards

  • PDF files may not be fully accessible to screen reader software

  • Artworks containing complex visual detail may not have equivalent long descriptions

I am actively working to improve accessibility wherever possible.

Technical Information About Accessibility Compliance

I am committed to making my website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 as a benchmark for good practice.

This website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed above.

Non-Accessible Content

The content below is not fully accessible for the following reasons:
1. Non-Compliance with WCAG Standards
  • Some images may lack descriptive alternative text (WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content).

  • Some downloadable PDFs may not be tagged for accessibility (WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships).

2. Disproportionate Burden

In some cases, providing full long-form descriptions for every artwork may not be reasonably achievable due to the artistic complexity and variable interpretation. However, I will always provide a description on request.

3. Content Not Within the Scope of the Accessibility Regulations
  • Third-party services (e.g., embedded social media feeds, payment systems) may not fully meet accessibility standards, as they are outside my control.

What I’m Doing to Improve Accessibility

I am actively working to:

  • Add improved alt text to key artwork images

  • Simplify website navigation

  • Ensure future PDFs are produced with accessibility tagging

  • Review pages regularly for accessibility improvements

  • Test using browser accessibility tools and screen reader simulation

This statement will be updated as improvements are made.
