The commission was to be given as a 50th birthday present. I worked from a handful of photos to get the character of 'Georgie' an Irish terrier, which is so full of character and sweet.
I enjoyed painting Georgie so much and I had ample time before the deadline that I produced several paintings and let them chose which one resonated with them the most.

The finished piece was designed to feel both personal and lasting — something that holds meaning beyond the image itself.
